FDA Will Announce Indefinite Annual Rollout of Covid-19 Vaccine: Report

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is reportedly  set to announce that COVID-19 vaccines will be indefinitely rolled out every year.

On Thursday, an FDA advisory panel is expected to vote in favor of switching the COVID-19 vaccine rollout to a yearly schedule that resembles the annual flu shot program.

Under the FDA’s new program, Americans are expected to be injected with a new COVID-19 vaccine every fall, with the shots targeting the most prominent variant at the time.

Premiums for the shots are expected to rise as both Moderna and Pfizer, Big Pharma titans who manufacture the vaccines, are set to quadruple the price of the injections to about $130 each.

To be considered “fully vaccinated,” Americans are required to get the original two-dose COVID-19 vaccine, combined with a booster shot two months later. However, some medical experts would consider that “undervaccinated” and urge people to get their second booster shot, as well as the updated bivalent injection that targets Omicron.

Regardless of how many vaccines Americans have received and when they were injected, the FDA’s new program would see people being administered the newest version of the vaccines every fall.

The bivalent vaccines produced by Moderna and Pfizer would also be considered a normal vaccine dose and not a “booster.”

The FDA reportedly also wants the advisory board to consider allowing young children, the elderly, and the immunocompromised to get injected twice annually with COVID-19 vaccines.

The news comes after a poll from Rasmussen Reports found that 57% of all American voters want Congress to investigate the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) response to reports of COVID-19 vaccine “major side effects,” which respondents believe are “common.”

According to the poll, 70% of Republican voters agree, with Independents at 54%, and just under half of all Democrat voters also in favour, at 48%, Valiant News reported.
