African-American tech entrepreneur Elon Musk celebrated an article published in the Washington Post this week that showed the US has been overcounting Covid deaths for some time.
The article was written by CNN doctor Leana Wen, who is best known for advocating for lockdowns, mandatory vaccinations, and other policies championed by the corporate press.
Titled “We are overcounting Covid deaths and hospitalizations. That’s a problem,” the article seemed to anger CNN panelists who grilled Wen about it on Tuesday.
Wen discussed the reporting of Covid as an “incidental finding,” such as w”somebody coming in with a gunshot wound or a heart attack, and they happen to test positive.”
Robert F. Kennedy tweeted out Wen’s article on Tuesday with the caption, “A year ago, this was a conspiracy theory that would get you censored…”
“The truth is finally coming out,” Elon Musk tweeted in response to the article.
At the end of November, after restoring a number of prominent conservative accounts, Musk polled his audience to see if there was appetite for a “general amnesty” for banned accounts, including those banned for suggesting that Covid deaths may have been overcounted.
A majority voted in favor of such a move, with only accounts that had not “broken the law or engaged in egregious spam” not being restored to Twitter.
Irwin, who took over the Trust and Safety role from radical leftist Yoel Roth, confirmed that the Twitter team had been “carefully reviewing thousands of suspended accounts for the past month,” and that users who “did not engage in threats of harm/violence, fraud or other illegal activity are being reinstated.”
